Challenge : Emily from Corpse Bride (results)

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 1, 2013, 3:46 AM

Free Emily Corpse Bride Icon by gutterface It's time for the results ! Corpse Bride by laisdossin

Some people didn't vote (but read the note) so I replace them by another vote for each of them (logical, since the participants can't vote for themselves, it's not fair if some people didn't vote ha ha). It's for that that it took some time ^^
In any case, thank you to all of you for your participation ! It was fun to see how you can manage such a theme and the difficulties in this challenge !

And don't forget my new contest ! : blossom-lullabies.deviantart.c…

So here are the result of this funny contest :iconclownplz:
I'm number one by BurgerBunnyFirst place, chosen by me but was the same choice as the vote (chosen by 8 people) :

Corpse Bride Challenge by LoiccoiL by LoiccoiL

Personnaly, I chose this one for the way the body and face was transformed. I think it's the most impressive one since I can easily recognize my face (absolutely kept but in the same time, just what we need in changes to recognize Emily with her little expression). The colours are perfect, it seems alive even if Emily is dead, it also seems to glow. All is changed in the good way and in the good proportion, all is in harmony. It's also a good idea to put me in the background of the movie (even if in the same time, it's not composed by the artist himself, so the transformation of my stock picture was really the reason why I chose this one). And again, I say it : the expression is just perfect since he found a way to make the expression of Emily but in this so realistic treatement. I'm impressed ! So congratulations for this first place !

Tard Jig by BurgerBunny Second place, chosen by the vote but also by me (and it's fun to see that finally, we have the same tastes, even for the third place) (chosen by 6 people)

I chose this one as second place because I was really impressed by several things. The first one is the simplicity of the composition, the coldness of the atmosphere and the mix between sadness and hope. All these things coming from this work are wonderful. I love the blue colours so fresh in this white and grey background. I love the lines of the trees, not in the same axe. I love the soft wind that makes fly the hair of Emily in an elegant way. I love the composition with the butterflies at a really good and reflecting place. I love also the expression of Emily and the way the artist tries to make a combination of me and her. Simply wonderful ! Congratulations for your second place !

Spin, Slide and Bump by BurgerBunnyThird place, chosen by the vote (chosen by 5 people, including me like I said before)

In this work, I especially enjoy the way the artist made the background and the atmosphere coming from the colours and elements. I think it's the most impressive work for these background and atmosphere. I enjoy so much the thorns around (like something menacing, contrasting with the soft face of Emily). I love the contrast between the cold feeling coming from the place or the character and the light effect on the top. I also really enjoy the fog and the light coming inside, like outside it's even more dangerous. I have the feeling that Emily tries to protect herself by being inside but, in the same time, it's maybe the moment where she will realize that she has to go to the white light. Wonderful !

Update : 23/12/2013 : with Christmas and New Year, I can easily imagine that you

time for the challenge ! Have a great time = )

Update : 09/12/2013 : new prizes !

Hello everyone !

My last contest is almost over and I was thinking to make something a little bit different... and harder (I think).

I remember you that my contests are for photomanipulators but also drawers or painters and even sculptors and more... just ask if your art is different = )

So here is the theme : transform a basic picture of me (the link will come) to Emily ! The difficulty : I have NO caracteristics linked to the theme on this picture...

My picture :

Can be found here :…
And in my gallery, in a pack (I prefer that you share this link) : blossom-lullabies.deviantart.c…

How to make that, which caracteristics to represent, what's her universe ?

Death make-up, blue hair, veil and bridal gown, crown with blue flowers :

She has some visible rips and an arm only made with bones (you don't "have to" make this characteristic, I just expose you how she looks... and I know that this one in particular is a little bit hard in every medium, don't worry) :

Strange and dark atmosphere :

My personnal favourite scene from the film : when blue butterflies takes her to the Light :

=> Find a way to represent me as her with the caracteristics you want and in the scene / background you want... As always : I let the place to the creativity : add the characters you want, make a twisted story, make something crazy or just simple. As you want !

Rules :
1. Keep my face (a part of the challenge)
2. Put the link to the picture used (me as model), my icon :icon Blossom-Lullabies: (without the space between "icon" and "Blossom-Lullabies") and put the link of the contest
3. As always, I want 10 participations at least for the prizes
4. No watermark or too big signature (or you have to accept to send me the picture without it)
5. Deadline : for now, I will put the 07/02/2014 as deadline. It can change because : not enough participations or if someone asks more time (yes, you can!)

Your work will be added to a special folder in my favourites (here is the link : blossom-lullabies.deviantart.c… ) and I will let you a comment, so you can easily know that you are in !

Prizes :
=> 1st place : 500 points from me (chosen by me)
=> 2nd place 150 points (NEW : chosen by vote)
-> 100 points from the sweet Naradjou14 for the vote choice
-> 50 points from me for my choice
=> 3rd place (NEW : chosen by vote) : 100 points from the kind Naradjou14

If you want to help me with points, don't hesitate (since this contest will take all of them :giggle:)

Good luck !
